Paid Rs 300 to the Poilice personnel for 'Police Verification for Tenants'

I went to submit the documents for Tenants - Police Verification. After examining the documents and stamping the documents - the police personnel calmly demanded Rs 300. I hadnded the same out thinking it is a legit charge and would be receiving a receipt. There was no receipt to be found. The personnel just handed over the stamped xerox of the document.
This happened in the Hinjewadi police station in Pune.
