Passport verification rates in ********** Pradesh

Here are the standard rates for passport verification in ********** Pradesh.

They'll start from Rs. 5000 and you get to bargain it to a minimum of Rs. 1000 and I think this is common all over U.P.

I've confirmed more than 20 individuals, friends and family members. Its was an average price of Rs. 2000 and the common dialogue the police man carry with them "Kuch karcha pani denge?" and if you say no, they say "then we won't verify it and your passport will get delayed for 6 months or more."

I've even reported the passport office of Lucknow about this issue and the public grievance cell which I doubt they don't know about, but haven't got any response till **********. Everybody knows about this issue and many must have reported it but this never ends. So, will this ever end?
