I applied for Tatkal Passport for my travel and job needs and had a police verification at my home in the month of August. The writer at the police station also called me to the station with documents and to sign some papers. I visited him and did my work and produced all documents as requested. Then he said i have to ********** the Inspector in charge and so have to come again in the evening. When i went to the station, he said the inspector will come only after 7 as he is gone to investigate a suicide case to nearby village.
I asked him if he can do something as i have to reach Hyderabad the next day and had to travel the same night form Bangalore. He was adamant and i was not going to risk my job on it, so went to attend my business.
The writer kept calling my home and harassing ms ******* and eventually he went home and collected Rs.300 form my ******* . This embarrassed me in form of both my parents and neighbors.
The matter of embarrassment was that, my parents asked me, 'Don#t you know that u have to pay him for verification?' and i asked why should I, when it is my right to get my passport without paying him any dues and it is his duties to verify me. For this i got lot of tough words form my mom n dad when already the relationship btwn me and them are shaky.
Finally lost my peace of mind and accept the facts as it is. And i pity the fact that it is my taxes that pays this guy his salary.. :(
