My long search for having a home of my own finally finished when i could find a perfect place in my city. After finalizing the deal and paying the necessary payments i went to registration department to get my piece of land registered. To my surprise the so called tehsildar asked for Rs 4000 as fees to get the land registered . I requested him for the acknowledgement slip for Rs 4000 on which he said its the fees without the receipt and i have to pay this , otherwise he will not register the land . I went to police, the police laughed on me and told me i have to pay that fees otherwise my land will never get registered . I am confused till today that i paid a bribe or what could i have done.
