Police on bike threatened to call our parents and asked to pay Rs.3000

I went to ********** my GF and we were sitting in a Car by roadside. Suddenly two policemen came on a bike and asked me to come out of a car. He asked me my name and told me that we will have to go to police station with my partener and from there he will call both of our parents and confirm that everything is fine. I said, we are not doing anything, we were just sitting and simple chat. He refused saying that society people have made complains and you both have to come and we will call your parents. Then I asked him not to take to police station and said we will avoid to be here. Then he asked to pay me 5000 Rs to go. I had no option to avoid harrassament as my partener was too scared and we were already strugling to convice our parents. Later he settled down for Rs 3000. And let us go. Pretty shameful, Had we not being in such a situation with our family, definately would have taught him a lesson. But some situations are difficult to handle.
