Police Constable demanded Rs.600 for passport verification

Hi Guys,
This is not a new scenarion in India. Every individual who applied for a passport faces this situation.

Cop came to my house for my address verification as a part of passport verification process. He said that every thing fine and no issues. And asked me "Do you know the formalities that you need to fullfill". I was not at all having an idea what he was talking about and I casually replied to him that I followed everything as per the process.
Even then he denied telling frankly that what he was expecting from me. I realised after some time and asked him "why should I give you money". He replied that if I wanna have my passport in time, I can..otherwise, I know what to do. As i need passport immediately, I was forced to pay the amount demanded by him.
