Police Officer Came For Passport Verification

Reported on March 5, 2019 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #199900

Date: 2nd March 2019

Time: 3:30-4:00

Address: 27, 3rd Floor, Aditya Residency, Bldg. 11 - 2, 1st Cross, 3rd Main Road, Pukhraj Layout, Adugodi - 560030.

The police officer came from Adugodi Police Station for passport verification. The officer's name was Murali. He verified my documents and then asked me for Rs. 300 stating that he's working on a weekend and he's very tired and that it's a tedious job where he is underpaid. Then when he found out it was for renewal of my passport, he asked for another Rs. 200 saying that he received the directive to do a verification on the 25th of February and that the delay may happen further if he doesn't pay his seniors to sign off on the paperwork so he can have the passport released to me. He ended his visit by saying it will take a further two days for me to get my renewed passport. I still haven't received it. In total, he's taken Rs. 500 from me.
