So there is one police man who comes for passport verification and a fixed price of 500 Rs per person is charges. Else he will leave the police verification request pending or will write that couldn't find the person at home or there are many other loop holes they can use to just harass.
Its fixed and seems everyone is involved. I have written it to Bathinda DSP as well and Anti corruption branches but all of them are kind of together to exploit the citizens.
The only way to overcome could be abolish police verification which is not authentic at all police can take money and make even fake verification notes.
Or There shall be rules that policemen shall be held responsible or is penalised for harassing the people and unnecessarily delaying the verification with false things. Also their shall be ways to track that policeman is doing his job.
After several minutes of negotiations policeman was shameless enough to extort 1500 for doing verification for three passports.
