Police Verification

Reported on October 8, 2014 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #44755

Hi,

My wife' passport had expired. We used to live in Mantri residency and at that were in hurry as my company had asked us to relocate to US. After making many rounds to the rude passport officials (except for one) we finally reached to a stage where police verification was required.
The cop came at our house but as we weren't home, he left a note. later that day we went to Hulimavu Police station. everything was smooth. We were there for 40 minutes and when our turn came, the officer looked at our documents, he said everything is fine. Then told him thank you and said you are very kind. I dont know what he understood, he said, whatever you like. I offered Rs.200 and he gladly accepted.

Now I am equally wrong in offering that money as that officer is in accepting it. My apologies but I will be more careful next time and much stronger in not offering a money. Officer is suppose to do his job and I am suppose to do mine by providing all the right information so I do not need to cut corners.

What is your reaction after reading this report?
