I applied for passport like anyone else ,attached all genuine proofs then i was called for police verification at kehwapur police station.The inspector incharge open the book and asked Rs 500/- I asked for what? he said processing fee.He also told me he has passports pending from 8 months or so just to fear me.I tried to bargain but he did not oblige so i had to pay it.Then even after 1 month+ time(5 weeks) the passport was stuck in Commisinor office.When i went there to check they said it is under process and will take time and he asked for bribe for fast processing, so i had to pay another RS 300 there for another round of processing and then after 1 week i got my passport.Though the passport authority says it takes 1 month time,it took me 2 months time with bribe and genuiune documents to complete the task,God knows how much i had to pay if i did not have documents...
My friend also did the same here from bangalore mico layout police station they asked ony Rs500/- so 300 saved ...
