Tatkal Ticket with Duplicate ID

I was traveling from Shirdi to Secunderabad. In emergency, myself booked the 2A/c ticket from Shirdi previous day. Then boarded the train in Sai Nagar Shirdi station with Tatkal Ticket along Duplicate PAN Card copy (color xerox laminated ID). When TTE reached for verification shown the ticket with duplicate ID, but TTE accepted the ticket and requested for original. When I replied that myself carry only duplicate card, then he explained the procedure of charges applicable as repayment of TATKAL TICKET CHARGES + FINE FOR TRAVELING WITHOUT ORIGINAL ID. On further request that I dont have money, he told pay 1/3rd amount of the ticket. Atlast I paid him the amount he demanded, then TTE gave a note that he is no way responsible for this travel. If anyone else catch until I reach the destination, then I was the sole responsible for further consequences. :)
