There was a break in and robbery of around 85K worth of equipment. The SI insisted that I declare the value as 45K, else he said the process is too tedious and they will not be able to begin investigation. They made me run around the police station for many days just to get FIR copy.
The writer bluntly asked for money and when I paid Rs 200, he got angry and insulted. They I had to pay 500 which he reluctantly took. They also insisted that the word "Robbery" be changed to theft in my complaint and did not take the complaint until I changed the wording to their liking and declared value.
