TTE for change of Berth

I was travelling from Malda to Ghuwati in Sariaghat Express (12345)with my family and we have 3 tickets for 3 Tier AC. But We had tickets 2 together & another one is little far. When i approached to TTE & he openly asked for money for change. I argued with him that the seat is vacant & he should not ask for money. Than he started pleading for the money like a beggar. I gave him Rs 50 as a beggar. Are all TTE not getting good salary?? Shame on these TTE.
