I was asked to give "something" by the policeman who came for passport verification at my house despite the fact that all my papers etc were in perfect order. I gave him only Rs 50/- but he didn't accept it. It was too meagre for him to accept it. I did not increase the amount and he left. Since everything was in order the passport did came through although it took much longer than usual.
