To whomsoever it may concern,
My name is Rahul Nandan & based in overseas for my employment purpose. My parents have a coffee estate in Shanivarasanthe, kodagu. One of our rouge estate neighbor has cut down the 20 year old fencing border claiming part of our land as his. Moreover he is threatening with gun , sickle whenever my father objects his coercion.
When i visiting India this summer, I honestly when to lodged complaint with police. The sub inspector of shanivarasanthe police station, Mr Anand Kumar insisted that he wants to visit the spot. Upon inspection of our estate border and documents like sketch, he said the land clearly belong to us. However, when he came to know i live in abroad, he directly asked me send RADO watch through courier in order to resolve the issue of my parents. I was stunned by this police behavior and arrogance asking for a bribe worth more than one lakh . ( the land in neighbour's dispute is not even 5 meters wide) . But, i didn't send watch to him, for which he declined to register a complaint even.
I later came to know this same police officer is involved in sand mafia, where he gets Rs 10000/week to allow illegal sand mining in the area. He also milked an expatriate to handover his passport in exchange of 1.5 lakh video cam & DSLR camera.
Will this kind of police autocracy will ever change in our great land?
