Said no to police who asked for bribe
I had to get my passport verified by the police officials. After signing all the required documents, the police politely asked me in Hindi, "Thoda chai-paani". Not well versed with the police lingo, I didn't get the meaning of it. I gave him a confused look, so he then indicated it to me using the rub-the-fingers move. I understood his motive. I told him that i won't pay him anything as I'm just a student and he should not be expecting anything from me. He was like it okay, I'll do your work.
Not it's been almost 8 days since my police verification and the Passport Seva website still shows that my passport application is waiting to be verified by the local police station.
