Trafic police lured to voilate the rule to make money

Reported on July 12, 2012 from New Delhi , Delhi  ι Report #31291

I was going to old delhi railway station to send a parcel by motorcycle. The railway station has separate entry and exit but the labels are put very high such that newcomer can not notice them. I entered by mistake through exit gate. Just inside the gate a civil dressed person hastly came to me and suggested me to run back else traffic police will catch me. I guessed right that the person is a stooge of traffic police only which was there at some 20 meters distance. i did not run and i could not have run away. I stopped the motorcycle. The traffic police came to me and said that i have violated rule by entering through wrong gate. I told him that i am in hurry to go to parcel office, you keep the motorcycle i will discuss after 1 hour while coming back. The policeman said that just give us your driving license and keep motorcycle and come back when you be free. I turned bike back entered through entry gate, parked motorcycle in parking and returned after 2-3 hours. I approached the policeman because i had to get my driving license, there he said that the fine for this violation is 500 rupees. I told him that i do not have this much money in my pocket and any money i pay i want the receipt for that first. I told me that then your bike will be kept and you have to pay fine in court and get bike from there. i said ok. but then the policeman started asking what do you do and where etc. i was student in JNU that time. He said ok because of JNU we are leaving you without any action..
