It is a pity you paid a bribe. You should visit the passport office to check the status of your application. This time if they ask for a bribe, do not succumb to their pressure. Keep a written complaint with you to give to the senior authorities in case the officer you are dealing with demands a bribe. If this does yield results, then file an RTI application. The procedure is simple and you will get a reply within 3o days. The period of wait seems long but it cannot beat the satisfaction of getting your work done by dodging corrupt officials!
