I have a driving license issued from Karnataka and want to drive a transport car.What is the procedure to add LMV transport
The details of how you can apply for this is available in the citizens charter of the Transport department, which is available on their website; http://rto.kar.nic.in/. You can expand your licence to cover LMVs, by getting this endorsed on your existing licence. In Karnataka, the process is that you have to take a separate learners licence for driving LMVs. After learning to drive LMVs, you can apply to the department in Form CMV 8, along with your existing licence and the learner's licence for LMVs.You have to pay a fee of Rs. 30/-, or Rs. 215/-, if you want a computer generated card. The test fees is Rs. 50/-. According to the citizens charter, 50 applications are considered every day. The licence is available on the next day between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm.
