Do not know if time,circumstances and society has changed that ASI for the worse. But salute his honesty!
Year 1989. Traveled by air from Chandigard to Jammu. Auto wallah asked Rs 100 for local address. Not knowing the distance, I negotiated to Rs 60. Boarded. At airport exit gate a young ASI stops the auto and asks the destination and that how much autowallah is charging. I tell him Rs 100 negotiated down to Rs 60. To me he says " You will not pay him more than Rs 5. Here is my office number just call me if auto wallah " . And to auto wallah " If I get to know you have charged more than Rs 5, will not let you drive an auto in Jammu"
