A mistake was made by the clerk w.r.t. to my police verification reference number and my passport was kept on hold for more than 3 months after police verification is completed. Upon enquiry with the concerned police, we came to know about this. When we contacted the passport officer, he asked to submit a letter mentionioning the mistake and requestinf for sanctioning the passport. No progress ahs taken place inspite of submitting a letter. My father personally went to the passport office to enquire about the same. And he was asked by the officer to buy some DVDs which cost around 1500 and pay the bal in cash at a place outside the office premises in the evening. And he was paid off well as per his demands. Inspite of this, he has asked for some more gifts when his bribe was pais and he has to be consoled with grat effort to adjust with the money given...
Finally the officer was not completely satisfied with the bribe but has completed his work. I received my passport in less than a weeks time after this.
