I am 61 years old senior citizen ,a pensioner travelling on two wheeler non-gear scooter From Main Road towards ********** .At M.G. Road signal I stopped The vehicle at left hand row of road as the signal was red.When the signal turn green insead of going streight I turned left towards Sarvaganik Vachanalaya .Suddenly a trafic havaldar appeared in front of me & stopped me and took me to his senior who was standing on road side near Bank of Baroda.Actually The havaldar who stopped me was also hidden nere the Bank but suddenly appeared before me. They instructed me to show my licence and R.c book I showed my papers .As the vehicle was purchased only 6 months back they did not asked for PUC Certificate.I asked them whats my fault ,they told there is bypass from the sugarcane rasavanti for turning to left you have done lanecutting you will have to pay fine of RS.400/-I asked how it bacomes lane cutting when I am waiting for signal in left lane only and have turned to left only when the green arrow is blinking towards left also.He said nothing doing you should use the bypass only for turning to left to the signal is installed for left turn and it shows left arrow.I asked then why you are not standing at the signal to guide the public and hiding in the corner? He was not in a mood to listen any argument and said they have to pay fixed amount daily to their superiors.I asked him what is the other solution to get my papers back from you? He was very sympathetic so told me as you are pensioner and senior citizen you can pay only Rs.100/-and get your papers back.Otherwise pay 400/-as fine and I will add few more !kalams! against you in addition to lanecutting.I had no alternative but to pay the Bribe of Rs.100/-As it was 8 p.m. night and I had some urgent work ahead. So i paid him 100/- bribe & cursed him & his superiors a lot But in mind only.
