Don't pay bribe [At least] when you aren't asked to pay
I got my passport renewed. The police from the airport road police station called me and asked me for additional proof of residence even though I had all the documents as mentioned in passport department website. I went the next day along with the document and I got the verification done.
I didn't pay the bribe nor did they ask for it. Another colleague paid bribe to policeman in the same station and got the verification done. Even in this case, she wasn't asked for bribe but she assumed it was the case.
