I paid bribe to Banaswadi Police for Police verification for passport
This experience was terrible.
I got an sms saying that come at police station with address proof, birth proof and 2 photograph. Same day I visited the police station and submitted the same. He asked me some questions. Asked to write an application for visiting at home, I did. He did not asked anything but just told me my colleague will come to visit your house and be present. I said yes and left the place.
Next day I got a call from the guy saying he is from Banaswadi-Bangalore police station and coming to your home for police verification, so be at home. I was waiting for so long but did not get any call or the guy did not came. I called him back and asked whether he is coming or not and within 5 minutes he was at my door step.
He asked me to go and asked any neighbor to come at my home and he was sitting inside my house. When I start leaving my home to ask my neighbor to come, he called me again and said, take this document and asked them to fill. I took the document and left my house. I asked my neighbour to fill the same.
When I came back, my mother took a cup of tea for the police guy. I was wondering mean while why he is sitting in my house and asking me to go to fill the form which I can do without his visit at my home also.
After finishing all the formalities, he was start leaving but standing at door saying that he has to do lots of work, petrol cost to visit my home, make a copy of my document and phone calls for that he need 500Rs. I was opposing but he was saying I need to submit your document next day, we will take care. I was full of fear that the guy may create problem for my file. I was still not ready but my father was also worried and said, give him else he will not do the process. I said than you give. He gave him 500Rs.
Then entire day I was full of in sock and anger. When our prime minister saying we want to build a strong India just before a day on 15th Aug, this police guy just next day asking this bribe, WHY?
I was feeling very bad not because of the money but the corrupt system. I am sure all the Senior police also knows this, why because the guy who was asking 500rs was telling me that we also have to pay 10,000Rs to my senior. that was a more socking. Whom to complain is the question in this case.
I wish any wise Senior police address this issue.
