I lost my child's passport while renovating my home few months back. While getting the new passport, I came to know that I have to file a complaint for loss of previous passport. I went to jurisdictional police station with the complaint. I explained my problem to a constable there. he didn't understand it quite well as I don't know the local language and they didn't speak English. So he directed me to the head constable who was rude to the core and didn't even lift up his face and directed me to junior inspector after listening my story. The inspector heard me out, i don't think he understood it either and then came back to head constable. However, to my surprise, the head constable ignored inspector as if he didn't exist. Even after calling his name so many times, he didn't respond. Finally, a computer operator came and told the process of getting a notorized complaint done for the same. I got the complaint done and came back next day. They kept me waiting for an hour and finally entered it in the system and gave me a signed copy. While leaving, I thanked everyone including inspector and started to leave but a lady constable stopped me and asked for something as the constable has done the job for me and used the printer. I started to argue that its their job but she still insisted for something. I finally gave 100 Rs but she was surprised and asked more so I gave another 100 and hurriedly walked off.
